Tablet competition is more interesting after Apple releases two flagship tablets, iPad Pro series and Macbook Air series. Although iPad Pro uses newer technology and features, Macbook Air is still feasible to be juxtaposed with the ranks of the other flagship tablets. Here is the comparison between iPad Pro vs Macbook Air.

iPad Pro vs Macbook Air

Design

At first glance, the design of these tablets did not change much. Apple seems to apply the same concept. As in the case of iPhone SE that carries the old design of iPhone 5s, Apple also makes the same move on this iPad Pro that carries the old design of Macbook Air 2. This design is considered quite feasible to use as well. Apple presents 240 x 169.5 x 6.1 mm dimension and 437 grams of weight for the tablet. The difference between iPad Pro vs Macbook Air is estimated only in the new colors added in the iPad Pro series.

Screen

The screen in 9.7-inch iPad Pro and iPad Air 2 are almost identical. Both iOS tablets use a 9.7-inch LCD screen with 2048 x 1536 pixels resolution and Retina Display technology. Although similar, the iPad Pro screen reportedly presents an increase in screen technology and this is a good news.

Engine

The recent Macbook Air, Macbook Air 2, was presumed to be the best Apple tablet when released. It uses Apple A8X chipset and M8 co-Processor. Performance of the hardware is then matched by the presence of the iPad Pro series. It uses A9X chipset and M9 co-processor.

Memory

Apple tries to bring updates to the internal memory of its tablets. This is reasonable considering Apple has never offered an additional memory slot. iPad Pro Tablet uses greater choice of internal memory, starting at 32, 128, and 256 GB, unlike the Macbook Air, that still uses 16, 64, and 128 GB of internal memory. In addition to it, iPad Pro already uses 4 GB of RAM, while the Macbook Air uses only 2 GB of RAM only. From the use of the operating system alone, iPad Pro already uses iOS 9.3 while the Macbook Air still uses iOS 8.1.

Camera

In terms of camera usage, iPad Pro has advantages in various sectors. This can be seen with the use of 12 MP main camera and 5 MP secondary camera. Comparing with the Macbook Air that still uses 8 MP main camera and 1.2 MP secondary camera, iPad Pro is better.

The improvement on its specifications makes iPad pro price much more expensive than Macbook Air series price. However, the increase is presented in many sectors, including the engine, internal memory, and camera. Although iPad Pro vs Macbook Air is not comparable, both are still among the best in the world of tablet market
